The offspring of two bay pintos, Spot beat the odds by coming into this world a solid chestnut.  This, it seems, fortold what a very "against all odds" filly she would become.  At five months our Spotless Reflection was in a horrible field accident.  Her hind left extensor tendon was not just severed but destroyed and we truly feared she would not make it.  Ten months later after 24 hour stall rest, surgery and nightly washing and soft casting, she returned to the herd.  It was something that we all hoped for but couldn't believe was happening.  Once again she had beat the odds.  With absolutely no vices and a strong human bond, our little girl was as good as new.  Almost.... consulting several vets only pointed to one thing.  There was little to no chance she would ever be able to be put through the riggers of training on her way to being backed.  We were faced with a very hard decision.  Her dam, Imago, is one of our foundation mares and her older sister, Zingara, is currently in training that will take her into the dressage ring.  It seemed only right that we offer our Spot as an impeccably bred broodmare to someone who was looking to add a shining star to their barn.
4 months of age, one month before injury
post injury, after 10 months of 24 hour stall rest.  She seems to be enjoying her freedom!
One week old
And the nightly ritual began...
From pvc splint....
To pressure wrap.....
To standing wrap...
We are happy to announce that not only is Spotless Reflection bandage free but at almost two years of age has found her new family.  Congratulations to the Prange family on their new broodmare prospect!!
